  Based right here in our backyard, this organization does tangible, life-changing work. They don't just build affordable homes; they build stability for families in 22 towns across the South Shore. You can support them by volunteering on a build site, donating, or shopping at their "ReStore" in Hanover (a great spot for new homeowners to find furniture and fixtures!).

  With shelters in Hingham, Weymouth, and Norwell, this organization is on the front lines of helping families move from homelessness to independence. They provide shelter, education, and advocacy to help families get back on their feet.

2. Fighting Food Insecurity

No neighbor should go hungry. These local pantries are vital resources for our community.

• Hingham Food Pantry:
  A staple of Hingham’s community support system, the Food Pantry operates out of the Second Parish Church on Main Street. They are entirely volunteer-run and rely on the generosity of residents to provide non-perishable food and grocery gift cards to Hingham families in need.

• The South Shore Food Bank:
  Working out of Weymouth, this organization distributes food to pantries and soup kitchens across the entire region. They are tackling the root causes of hunger and ensuring that fresh, healthy food reaches the people who need it most.

3. Community Support & Family Services

• The Arc of the South Shore:
  Located in Hingham, The Arc is a premier provider of services for children and adults with disabilities. They empower individuals to reach their fullest potential through early intervention, employment training, and day programs. Their work enriches our entire community by ensuring everyone is included and valued.

  A powerhouse on the South Shore, they offer emergency shelter and permanent housing solutions. Their approach goes beyond just a bed for the night—they provide the resources and support systems necessary to end homelessness for good.
